Pain in neck is the most common problem that occurs in more than two-third of the population. Although it is felt at neck but its origin may be elsewhere. It may occur due to problem in the jaw joint and it’s surrounding muscles and fascia. Improper or poor occlusion puts pressure on the neck and may cause extreme pain to the patient. In addition to this, some patients of TMD also complain of postural pain. This occurs due to pain radiating from TMJ toother parts of the body, such as neck, shoulders, head or even low back. As these parts struggle to cope, people often find themselves favouring one part of their body over another. This imbalance contributes to the pain and compounds the problem.
